Responsibilities

The Vice President of Commercial Sales supporting our Robotics division is responsible for sales and marketing of the Hamilton Robotics product line in all market’s segments. Their primary functions are to ensure that the Hamilton Robotics business objectives are met or exceeded within acceptable profit goals while supporting the direct field sales team.

  •  Management and direction of sales support and applications teams to ensure focus, profitability, and execution of market opportunities:
    • Application Consulting Services
    • Standard Solutions
    • Sales & Marketing
    • Customer Service
    • Business Unit Management
  • Support development of annual business plans and multi-year strategic plans for Robotics line of business
  • Work closely with regional managers to evaluate and improve new hire onboarding, product/sales training, support of territory plans, setting pricing guidelines, developing action plans to adjust and mentor sales personnel and when needed, implement best practices.
  • Lead / take part in the marketing and sales process and ensure that the relations with the clients are advantageous and efficient. Attend and lead meetings with key clients, at all levels and develop an in-depth knowledge of customer requirements through regular meetings
  • Develop the local strategies to grow business
  • Improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques and business processes.
  • Participates in and initiates sales, marketing, and product strategy meetings on a regular basis to ensure we remain on target to achieve predetermined goals.
  • Collect and maintain up-to-date market information to ensure competitive approach and disseminate data to the sales force as well as the marketing and manufacturing sites.
  • Main contact point for use and improvements of CRM from field use to extract for marketing execution.
  • A participant in liaising between Hamilton Robotics Product Management groups in Reno and Switzerland for all communication. This is to include but not limited to: technical problems, product improvement ideas, sales support tools needed and demo fleet with functioning, relevant products.
  • Hire, motivate, develop, and retain excellent Managers and employees meeting Hamilton’s high standards for excellence.

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated abilities and success in preparation of resource utilization plans, schedules, and cost estimates for both small and large new product development projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an assertive, focused, determined and proactive approach, while being successful as a diplomatic and people oriented, team player.
  • Data driven and demonstrated experience in using analytics to drive performance standards, improvements, and financial modeling.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the life-science automation industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Scientific Engineering, or another industry-related field required from an accredited, not-for-profit university.
  • Masters Business Administration preferred from an accredited, not-for-profit university.
  • Experience in new product development, sales and marketing, operations, business management, and leadership. 
  • 10+ years of experience in managing operating teams of 50+ employees.
  • 10+ years of professional sales experience in Life Sciences.
  • Liquid-handling technology industry preferred
  • At least 7 years of commercial experience with capital equipment (with proven success).
