Responsibilities

The software engineer (internal tools) position is tasked with helping to expand and maintain the portfolio of manufacturing and service tools used on the Hamilton robotic platforms. These tools are used to test various parts of the overall robotic platforms during manufacturing and service. This includes writing and maintaining a variety of WPF windows applications, interfacing a SQL database for historical testing data, and various scripting tools (PowerShell and internal languages). Help evaluate new feature development against the current set of tools with thinking about consolidation of tools and technologies. Employ OOP principals and industry recommended design patterns. Other responsibilities include analysis and resolution of software defects, effective communication with other departments and disciplines, and developing project estimates and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in C# with understanding of fundamental object oriented design principles.
  • Experience creating and/or maintaining WPF windows applications and the MVVM design pattern.
  • Experience with scripting in PowerShell and Python.
  • Solid SQL database design principles and experience with Entity Framework.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies or frameworks such as SCRUM.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to analyze and further develop provided requirements.
  • Must have the ability to anticipate customer and/or product needs.
  • Must be able to work on both individual and team projects.
  • Must have familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
  • Must be able to use opportunity cost evaluation as part of decision making.
  • Must have a positive attitude.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited university in computer science, software engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of working in, deploying, maintaining software and/or architecture.
  • Experience with robotic platforms and/or control a positive.
