Responsibilities

The Product Manager for Laboratory Products will guide products from idea to launch by leveraging market knowledge and company relationships (sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, finance) with the user experience to develop products that continually meet customer needs.

  • Lend expertise and provide direction to team on markets, competition, and user requirements for small instrument products.
  • Write clear and concise product requirements that will drive innovation at Hamilton, including goals and key features for new products.
  • Launch products by working across departments at Hamilton to provide vision, actionable timelines, and plans for communications, budget, and distribution. Includes developing pricing and manufacturing forecasts based on market knowledge,
  • production costs, and anticipated demand.
  • Maintain the life cycle for each small device to ensure market adoption, profitability, and user happiness.
  • Create and deliver formal presentations to customers and internal stakeholders for a broad range of topics to champion Hamilton small instruments.
  • Continue professional and technical education, attending workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Understanding current industry trends in laboratory equipment applications and needs.
  • Knowledge of the scientific testing process, either through hands-on, education, or past sales.
  • Ability to lead through influence.
  • Ability to identify market opportunities and competitive differentiators.
  • Business acumen of product management, engineering, design, sales, finance, marketing, and customer support.
  • High-level of communication skills-verbal and written.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Biology) required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a science laboratory setting using laboratory instrumentation or other wet chemistry laboratory equipment preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of product management experience preferred.
  • Experience with a life science consumable-related product preferred.
  • Experience with launching new products or features, including the development of a product vision, go-to-market strategy, or design preferred.
