Responsibilities

Hamilton Robotics is seeking a Field Application Specialist to join our Robotics team. The ideal candidate will work in the field and support Canadian territory. This position requires you to reside in, or relocate to the Toronto area. As a Field Application Specialist with Hamilton Company you will be tasked with providing high quality customer support through instrument installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new automation applications for our instruments
  • Act as the main contact person between Hamilton and our customers during the programming and implementation phase
  • Implement and test new instruments at our customers laboratories
  • Optimize liquid handling and biological assays on these instruments
  • Prepare user guides and give user trainings to enable an optimal usage of the instruments.
  • Conduct FAT/SAT in our factory and at customer site.
  • Support the sales representative during configurations of instruments, system specifications, documentation and presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with strong communication skills for a demanding client environment.

  • Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
  • Ability to learn new robotic operating systems.

Education/Experience

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in science, preferably in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or other related science.

Additional Information

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite required.
  • Experience in automation or similar field is required.
  • Experience working in the field as well as corporate setting required.
  • Being fluent in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C++, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in a previous similar position preferred.
  • Knowledge of Hamilton products preferred.
  • Experience working in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and qPCR, NGS, etc.) and cell biology procedures (cell culture maintenance, cell based assays, etc.) preferred.

Mid Salary

USD $92,500.00/Yr.
