Responsibilities

The Incoming Inspector will assure conformance to specifications for all purchased parts at Hamilton Company.

  • Inspect incoming purchased parts to purchase order and blueprint specifications.                                
  • Perform first article inspections from vendors or on in-house manufactured parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to part inspection results. 

  • Interface with vendors to explain inspection results and assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform vendor source inspections as required.                                                                             

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of dimensional inspection using gages such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, thread gages, plug gages, feeler gages and specialized measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to efficiently use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systesm and inspection databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to precisely convey inspection results to stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external parties to communicate, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to out-of-specification parts.
  • Detailed knowledge of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate Degree in technical field perferred. 
  • 7 Years of quality / inspection experience preferred.
  • 3 years of PCB inspection experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with dimensional inspection of components using calibrated gages and/or experience inspecting printed circuit board assemblies to IPC standards.
  • IPC certification preferred.
