Responsibilities

The Market Segment Leader (MSL) of cellomics will drive innovation, business development, and strategic partnerships within the cellular analysis, imaging, and bioprocessing markets. This role is focused on developing automation solutions for cell-based assays, single-cell analysis, advanced cellular workflows, and high-content screening. The role is central to the development of strategic partnerships, market expansion, and assay ready workstations. The MSL will define industry-wide automation applications and solutions, positioning Hamilton as the leader in cellomics automation.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Lead initiatives in cellomics, identifying key growth areas, emerging trends, and competitive landscape
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), industry consortia, and strategic partners to foster innovation and collaboration. Serve as an industry representative and recognized expert in the field of cellomics
  • Work closely with Product Management, Automation Engineering, and R&D teams to guide the development of cell-based-specific automation solutions
  • Develop and drive the adoption of assay ready workstation solutions for cellomic applications, including, but not limited to, cell culture automation, flow cytometry, cell-based assays, high-content imaging, organoid research, and high-throughput workflows
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Applications to support customer needs without acting as direct technical sales support
  • Conduct market research to assess customer needs, pain points, and technological gaps to drive product and application development initiatives
  • Represent Hamilton at key conferences, trade shows, industry events, presenting thought leadership on cellomic applications
  • Lead the development of marketing collateral, white papers, application notes, and case studies to promote cell-specific solutions
  • Maintain a high level of industry visibility by publishing manuscripts, participating in panel discussions, and contributing to standards-setting organizations
  • Actively participate in working groups, industry boards, and institutions to shape market trends
  • Foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, research institutions, and other leading parties to drive innovation and market penetration
  • Identify and establish collaborations with biotech startups, research organizations, and pharma companies to expand Hamilton’s cellomics footprint

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of cell-based workflows, including cell-based assays, high-content imaging, flow cytometry, single cell analysis, cell culture automation, and other high-throughput applications
  • Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling robotics is required
  • Proven ability to drive business development and establish industry partnerships
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a track record of industry engagement
  • Ability to develop thought leadership content and influence cell-based industry discussions
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration, engaging with marketing and product development teams
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time

Education/Experience

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or a related field is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cellomics applications, automation, or life sciences industry
  • Experience engaging with working groups and professional boards
  • Experience with laboratory automation and capital equipment
  • Demonstrated success in leading business development efforts, scientific partnerships and strategic initiatives to guide product-market fit strategies within cellomics
  • Experience taking scientific bench protocols to automated solution
