Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Maintenance/Facilities Supervisor, the incumbent(s) maintains facilities and grounds to provide a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for all Hamilton employees, visiting customers, and guests.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drywall/plaster repair and painting
  • Furniture assembly and relocation
  • Changing lights and/or fixtures
  • Plumbing repairs, replacements, installations
  • Carpentry repairs and installations (doors, shelves, countertops)
  • Minor repair of electrical devices
  • Facilities safety inspections
  • Concrete and asphalt paving inspections and repairs
  • Grounds and security maintenance (fencing, gate arms and gates)
  • Complete basic repairs necessary to maintain the proper operating condition of production and facility equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on production and facility equipment as defined by the preventive maintenance program
  • Assist in the complicated production and facility equipment repairs, functions, and support all facility modifications
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must possess sufficient skills to safely operate all lawn care & grounds equipment.                                
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all safety procedures and precautions necessary to prevent equipment and facility endangerment to personnel, visitors, and guests.
  • Must be knowledgeable of MSDS information as they pertain to various chemicals used in the performance of job functions.
  • Must demonstrate, with direction from management, the ability to complete tasks accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Must demonstrate an aptitude and desire to continually develop facility and equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Position includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places or exposure to chemicals.
  • Must be physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, stand, pull, and reach in normal equipment and facility maintenance activities – such as mowing lawns, pulling electrical cable, working overhead, relocating equipment, etc.
  • Must be PC literate to use the Preventative Maintenance system and report hours.

Education/Experience

  • Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience in facility and/or industrial plant maintenance.
  • Additional technical education, such as continuing education in a related field from an accredited training program (Jr. College, college, seminars with C.E.U., or apprenticeship program) is a plus.
