Responsibilities

The Azure System Administrator is responsible for designing, automating, and supporting enterprise systems and infrastructure across Azure, Microsoft 365, and DevOps pipelines. This includes Office 365, SharePoint, and Active Directory. The role requires deep technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Azure & DevOps Engineering
    • Design Azure DevOps pipelines using YAML, including multi-stage setups, approvals, templates, and secure practices (secrets management, access control).
    • Integrate with Azure services such as AKS, App Services, and Azure Functions.
    • Provision and automate Azure resources using Bicep and Terraform.
    • Manage version control using Azure Repos, GitHub, and Bitbucket; implement branch policies, pull request workflows, and code reviews.
    • Automate DevOps tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python; develop custom pipeline tasks.
    • Leverage Docker and Kubernetes, especially for AKS pipeline integrations. 
  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration
    • Manage Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services.
    • Configure and maintain user accounts, licenses, and security groups.
    • Implement compliance policies, retention rules, and DLP strategies.
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Office 365-related issues.

  • SharePoint Administration
    • Manage SharePoint Online environments.
    • Configure site collections, permissions, and workflows.
    • Support content migration and governance.
    • Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 and Azure services.

  • Collaboration & Support
    • Work closely with development teams.
    • Optimize build and deployment processes through automation and collaboration.
    • Provide occasional night/weekend support as needed.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years in DevOps or cloud administration roles.
  • Experience with Azure pipelines, Git version control, and TFS vNext.
  • Hands-on knowledge of various testing technologies.
  • Familiarity with common DevOps toolchains.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows and experience with Azure Repos, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Agile development experience (e.g., SCRUM).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunity cost in decision-making.
  • Positive, customer-first mindset.

Education/Experience

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
  • DevOps-related certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 1–2 years in DevOps or 1–2 years in software development with a desire to transition into DevOps.
