Responsibilities

At Hamilton Company, Lab Solutions is on a journey to enable our customers to be more efficient with our solution offerings while being supported by the best-in-class post-sales support organization. The Lab Solutions Sales Representative is a key member of the Hamilton Company Singapore commercial team and owns and exceeds the revenue target in Singapore and the PacRim region territory.  Candidates must reside in Singapore.

Position responsibilities include, but are not  limited to: 

  • Perform direct sales to customers in Singapore and through a distributor network in the PacRim region.
  • Establish a working relationship with existing customers to expand account penetration with all Hamilton Lab Solutions products.
  • Prospect for new leads by attending tradeshows, social networking, and cold calling.
  • Dealer Management: train and manage a network of independent dealers across the PacRim region. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key dealer personnel.
  • Sales Execution: Drive sales of Lab Solutions products (ML PREP, ML600, handheld pipettes, decappers, consumables, etc.) through the dealer network. Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets.
  • Joint Customer Visits: Accompany dealers on sales calls to provide product expertise, conduct demonstrations, and close deals.
  • Product Demonstrations: Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations to potential customers, highlighting the value and benefits of Hamilton's solutions.
  • Application Support: Provide support to dealers and customers, answering questions about product applications and troubleshooting issues.
  • Training and Education: Conduct regular training sessions for dealer sales teams on new products, sales techniques, and competitive positioning.
  • Sales Planning, Forecasting and Goal Setting: Collaborate with dealers to develop accurate sales forecasts and annual business plans. Set dealer sales targets with sales management.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and new product developments.
  • Reporting: Regularly monitor dealer sales performance, track progress towards targets, and provide reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Hubspot) for lead management and sales tracking. Provide yearly dealer performance reviews.
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and campaigns that support dealer sales efforts.
  • Relationship Management: Continuously nurture and strengthen relationships with dealers through regular communication, training, and support.
  • Development of a business plan and sales strategy for the assigned territory that ensures attainment of company sales targets.
  • Perform a monthly review with sales management and adjust sales activities to optimize grow.
  • Utilize the CRM to facilitate the sales process and communicate sales pipeline.
  • Initiates, identifies, and coordinates action plans to penetrate new customers in territory.
  • Coordinate customer visits, demo follow-ups and learns as necessary to facilitate efficient sales trips.
  • Assist team in the development and implementation of marketing plans and objectives, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on feedback from the field to senior management.
  • Control expenses and time management to meet budget guidelines and productivity.
  • Regular commute to and from customer sites and travel to dealers with ability to navigate within the region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory, at least 40-50% of the time with no restrictions.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mature territory planning skills with consistent and abundant 30-60-90 day rolling plan.
  • Demonstrated collaborative relationships with other team members.
  • Superior time management skills and the ability to complete tasks on time and from the road.
  • Understanding of the markets where Hamilton Lab Solutions competes.
  • Valid Driver's License and successful completion of a motor vehicle history check are mandatory for this role.

Education/Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering, from an accredited not-for-profit institution or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience selling laboratory equipment is required.
  • Experience managing distributors is required.
  • Minimum of five (5+) years benchtop laboratory experience or equivalent knowledge of laboratory processes (PCR, Serial Dilution, Normalization, DNA Extraction, etc.) is preferred.
