Responsibilities

The Sales and Product Specialist will be responsible for driving sales of Automated Sample Storage products and services while providing strong technical pre-sales, post-sales and application support. This role combines in-depth product knowledge with customer relationship management to ensure customer success and maximize sales opportunities. The Sales and Product Specialist will act as a subject matter expert (SME), representing Hamilton professionally in the marketplace, and will contribute to both revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Sell and represent automated sample storage products and services within the assigned region.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales quota and growth targets.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
  • Provide technical pre-sales support, including customer presentations, product demonstrations, site surveys, and tender/RFQ submissions.
  • Provide post-sales support, including follow-up for delivery and coordination with customers and the technical team for installation and commissioning, and customer training.
  • Be the automated sample storage expert in assigned region and main point of contact with business unit headquarters for revenue accountability, business and technical escalations, and product training.
  • Develop strong application knowledge to explain how Hamilton products solve customer problems and create value.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Assist with the generation of facilities layouts, MEP connections, and product drawings (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), including renderings, for prospective customers.
  • Organize and participate in product shows, trade shows, seminars, conferences, and webinars.
  • Recommend product improvements and pricing strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive CRM records (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) for lead, contact, and pipeline management.
  • Support sales configuration tools and quoting processes.
  • Monitor and report on competitive products and market activity.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and Service teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high desire for quality, motivated, organized, goal-oriented, and persistent.
  • Demonstrated success in both sales (capital projects preferred) and technical product/application support.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the field as well as corporate setting.
  • Ability to train non-technical personnel on highly technical material.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals and biologicals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in meeting customers’ overall needs.
  • Ability to learn new operating systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-faceted extended sales cycle.
  • Ability to travel ~20–30% domestically (and occasionally internationally).
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including rendering.
  • Ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Strong technical understanding of automation hardware and software, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; macros/pivot tables a plus).

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering or Life Sciences discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in life sciences, automation, or laboratory equipment sales required; six (6) years preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Facilities and/or refrigeration experience a plus.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License. Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check.
  • Must have personal, reliable transportation with valid license, registration and insurance that can safely transport necessary equipment.
  • Must hold a valid passport.
