Company Overview

Hamilton Company is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of manual, semi-automated and robotic products for precision fluid measuring. We specialize in the development, manufacturing and customization of precision measurement devices, automated liquid handling stations, and sample management systems. For more than 60 years, Hamilton has been satisfying customer needs by combining quality materials with skilled workmanship, ensuring the highest level of performance of every precision fluid measuring device we manufacture.

Responsibilities

Hamilton Company designs and manufactures precision fluid handling, laboratory automation, and sample management technologies used across biopharma, diagnostics, academia, and industrial laboratories. As part of Hamilton's field organization, Automation Consulting Engineers (ACEs) are the technical customer-facing experts who translate complex laboratory workflows into practical automation solutions and help drive revenue growth in their territories.

The ACE - Integrations partners directly with an Integrations Sales Representative to own the technical portion of the sale from discovery through handoff—scoping requirements, designing system configurations, and building customer confidence through demonstrations, documentation, and clear communication. After purchase, the ACE - Integrations ensures a smooth transition into delivery and implementation by aligning orders, scope, and acceptance criteria and by coordinating with field and factory teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Technical Leadership
  • Partner with the Integration Sales Representative and regional field sales teams to plan and execute discovery meetings; capture workflow, throughput, and integration requirements; and identify upstream/downstream process needs.
  • Design and iterate system configurations that solve customer problems using Hamilton platforms and integrated third-party devices.
  • Develop clear customer-facing content—presentations, demonstrations, and technical narratives—that articulate capabilities, trade-offs, and benefits.
  • Draft or coordinate high-quality scope documentation (e.g., Application Requirements Specification, Statement of Work, Factory/Site Acceptance Test) to define objectives, constraints, acceptance criteria, and responsibilities.
  • Post-PO Project Transition & Oversight
  • Create and maintain project tasks and milestones.
  • Ensure Field Service and Field Applications Teams have complete, current information.
  • Coordinate with factory engineering and project teams on design reviews, build activities, and test readiness; gather and relay customer feedback to keep scope, timelines, and risks visible.
  • Lead or co-lead customer interactions around formal acceptance events (e.g., Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test) and secure the necessary signoffs.

This is a field-based role covering the US and Canada. Regular regional customer travel is required, with occasional travel to other sites for team meetings, demonstrations, or acceptance testing. Travel frequency varies by customer demand and project stage.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in lab automation integration projects and lab automation scheduling software is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer workflows into system requirements and to communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Project management skills – organized, articulate, able to set realistic expectations and keep coworkers and customers accountable.
  • Excellent customer support, service, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision.
  • Must be available to travel nationally and regionally.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of Hamilton Robotics' product portfolio and software platforms is a must.
