Prepare samples, mobile phases, buffers, reagents, standards, and system suitability solutions according to approved procedures.
Perform routine testing using HPLC or other applicable laboratory techniques such as titrations.
Set up instruments, confirm calibration status, conduct system suitability testing, and monitor analytical runs.
Review chromatograms and calculations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established specifications.
Enter observations, instrument parameters, calculations, and results into laboratory notebooks, worksheets, or electronic systems in a timely manner.
Follow controlled methods, standard operating procedures, good documentation practices, and applicable quality requirements.
Identify atypical results, instrument problems, sample discrepancies, and procedural deviations; promptly notify the supervisor and assist with investigations.
Perform routine instrument checks, cleaning, minor troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance as assigned.
Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, reference standards, columns, consumables, and sample inventories.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; properly label, store, and dispose of chemicals and samples.
Collaborate with production, quality assurance, engineering, and other laboratory personnel to meet testing priorities and turnaround expectations.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical technology, or a related scientific discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered.
Foundational knowledge of analytical chemistry, laboratory calculations, solution preparation, and safe chemical handling.
Ability to follow detailed written procedures and produce complete, legible, and accurate records.
Basic proficiency with laboratory software and standard office applications.
Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently after training and to collaborate effectively in a deadline-driven laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, food, or manufacturing laboratory.
Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, chromatography data systems, or laboratory information management systems.
Experience working in a regulated environment and familiarity with good laboratory, manufacturing, or documentation practices.
Knowledge of common chromatographic troubleshooting concepts, including pressure changes, retention-time shifts, carryover, peak shape, and baseline performance.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a laboratory environment with routine use of chemicals, solvents, compressed gases, glassware, and analytical instruments.
Must wear required personal protective equipment and follow established environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Requires prolonged standing or sitting, repetitive hand movements, visual review of instrument data, and occasional lifting or movement of laboratory materials up to 100 pounds. Ability to move 55 gallon (200 liter) drums of solvents and waste containers.
